Yuan Yi Hao, Ningbo
This experimental Ningbo cuisine restaurant brings a bold new vibe to the city’s celebrated seafood culture. Located beside Moxy Ningbo Old Bund, the space transforms maritime heritage into an immersive, theatrical dining experience.
From the exterior, woven metal screens glow like illuminated fishing nets, hinting at the coastal narrative within. Inside, ocean-blue gradients wash the walls, meeting burnt-orange seating that recalls traditional seafood baskets, harbor sunsets, and the earthy warmth of Ningbo’s port.
Oversized woven pendant lights tilt dramatically overhead, casting fluid shadows like lanterns drifting across water. The green arcade—lush, lacquered, and slightly surreal—becomes a cinematic passageway that merges terracotta textures with neon depth, at once nostalgic and futuristic.
The main dining hall continues the rhythm: electric-blue tabletops, rope-lined chairs, and a floating ceiling of golden chainmail that curves like molten metal. It is gritty, glamorous, and unmistakably contemporary. The private dining room shifts the mood entirely with sapphire mosaic walls and a ceiling that shimmers with underwater reflections, enveloping guests in a dreamlike aquatic world.
Through color, texture, and light, the restaurant reframes Ningbo seafood as an experience—bold, modern, and rich with coastal imagination.
